"Volcano Girls" is a single by the United States|American alternative rock band Veruca Salt (band)|Veruca Salt, released in 1997 on their album Eight Arms to Hold You. It was written by Nina Gordon in which she was the lead singer for the song, with Louise Post performing backup vocals. This song was used at the beginning of the dark comedy movie Jawbreaker (film)|Jawbreaker released in 1999.
About the song
The song lyrically references Veruca Salt's previous hit "Seether (song)|Seether", from their 1994 ''American Thighs'' album. In Volcano Girls the identity of the Seether is clearly revealed; "The Seether's Louise", as in Louise Post of the band. This itself is a reference to the Beatles song "Glass Onion".

The highly energetic music video for "Volcano Girls" was shot over two days at Essenay in Chicago, Illinois in 1997. This video consists of the band in the central arena attached to bungee cords, on which Louise Post (right side and airborne), Nina Gordon (left side and performing), and other band members bounce erratically. The video also shows Post and Gordon performing the song while a camera circles around them.
Surrounding this arena stand many fans watching them perform several takes of the song.
