Flyleaf is an United States|American alternative rock music| alternative rock band that formed in the Belton, Texas|Belton<ref name=allmusicguide /> and Temple, Texas<ref name=MySpace /> regions in 2000. They performed around the United States in 2003 until releasing their eponymous debut album, ''Flyleaf (album)|Flyleaf'', in 2005. The band won an open access poll#online poll|online poll on Yahoo!|yahoo.com and was named Yahoo! Band history
Early on Lacey Mosley started playing music with James Culpepper. Guitarists Jared Hartmann and Sameer Bhattacharya were later recruited.
