Iced Earth is an United States|American Heavy metal music|heavy metal band that combine influences from thrash metal, power metal, progressive metal, opera, speed metal and New Wave of British Heavy Metal|NWOBHM. Iced Earth has been known to have a volatile and oft changing line-up. Founding member, songwriter, and rhythm guitarist Jon Schaffer being the only original member who has remained, handling nearly all of the songwriting and leading the band. Current vocalist Matt Barlow and former lead guitarist Iced Earth#Former members|Randall Shawver are the next longest-tenured members, the only people besides Schaffer to have spent a full decade in the band. Shawver, the first lead guitarist to record with the band, joined in 1988 and remained until 1998. Barlow joined in 1994 and remained until 2003, when he was inspired by the September 11, 2001 attacks in the United States|U.S. to leave the band and become a law enforcement officer. However, he returned to the group in late 2007. In 1999 Jon Schaffer teamed up with Blind Guardian vocalist Hansi KÃ¼rsch to form a side project called Demons & Wizards and have released two albums to date.

Location: Greece Mετά τις τελευταίες απροσδόκητες εξελίξεις και προκειμένου να διασφαλιστεί η ομαλή διεξαγωγή του “Rock ‘Em All Festival”, αποφασίσαμε να μείνουμε απλοί παρατηρητές αυτής της παρωδίας και να βρούμε καινούρια στέγη για το Φεστιβάλ μας. Φέτος το Rock χτυπάει στην καρδιά τις πόλης και συγκεκριμένα στην Τεχνόπολη του Δήμου Αθηναίων στο Γκάζι. Τον καυτό Ιούλιο η Music Box Productions προσφέρει μια όαση στους φίλους του σκληρού ήχου με το “Rock ‘Em All Festival”. Την Κυριακή 20/7 για πρώτη φορά ένα φεστιβάλ θα πραγματοποιηθεί στην καρδιά της Αθήνας, στην Τεχνόπολη του Δήμου Αθηναίων στο Γκάζι! Στόχος του Φεστιβάλ είναι να προσφέρει στους πολυπληθείς οπαδούς του σκληρού ήχου μια μοναδική συναυλιακή εμπειρία αναμιγνύοντας κάποια από τα αγαπημένα συγκροτήματα του Ελληνικού κοινού με ορισμένα από τα πιο καυτά και επίκαιρα ονόματα της σύγχρονης μεταλλικής σκηνής. Αποτέλεσμα αυτής της αλχημείας είναι ένα line up για όλα τα γούστα. Το Φεστιβάλ θα αρχίσει με τον καλύτερο δυνατό τρόπο καθώς στη σκηνή θα ανέβουν οι Pain of Salvation, ένα ιδιαίτερα αγαπητό συγκρότημα για το ελληνικό κοινό. Λίγο αργότερα θα έρθει η σειρά των Moonspell να μας συνοδέψουν με τις σκοτεινές τους μελωδίες. Στη συνέχεια, το “Rock ‘Em All Festival” θα ικανοποιήσει ένα από τα μεγαλύτερα απωθημένα του ελληνικού κοινού παρουσιάζοντας το πιο εξωγήινο συγκρότημα του πλανήτη, τους Meshuggah ενώ αμέσως μετά θα εμφανιστούν οι επίκαιροι όσο ποτέ Lacuna Coil της πανέμορφης Cristina Scabbia. Και αν αυτά ακούγονται ιδανικά, που να δείτε τη συνέχεια. Οι Iced Earth, με τον επιβλητικό Matt Barlow στη σύνθεσή τους, επιστρέφουν στη χώρα που τους λάτρεψε όσο καμία άλλη για να ξεσηκώσουν τους πολυπληθείς οπαδούς τους. Το Φεστιβάλ τελειώνει με μια μεγάλη έκπληξη. Οι θρυλικοί Venom, μετά από 11 χρόνια απουσίας, επιστρέφουν στην Ελλάδα για να μας προσφέρουν ένα show γεμάτο ενέργεια και εντυπωσιακά οπτικά εφέ. Location: Óbudai Island, Budapest, Hungary The Sziget Festival (pronounced ['sigɛt], similar to see'-get) is one of Europe's largest music and cultural festivals, held annually in August in Budapest, Hungary. The festival takes place on Óbudai-sziget ("Old-Buda Island"), an island on the Danube, thus Sziget stands for Island. Currently it boasts more than 1000 performances each year. The week-long festival has grown from a relatively low-profile 1993 student event to become one of the definitive European rock festivals by the late 1990's, with about half of all visitors coming from outside Hungary. Attendancy rates surpassed the 250 000 mark in 1997 and the 350 000 mark in 2001. The all-time peak year was 2005 with 385 000 visitors. Location: Walton-on-Trent, South Derbyshire, Catton, DE12 8LN, United Kingdom Bloodstock Open Air is a heavy metal festival held annually at Catton Hall in Walton-upon-Trent, England, since 2005. Previous line-ups have included bands such as Children of Bodom, In Flames, Testament, Arch Enemy, Saxon, Lacuna Coil, Turisas, Stratovarius, Edguy, Ensiferum and more! Band signing sessions take place regularly throughout the course of the festival, wherein fans can get their merchandise signed by performing artists. There is also a 'Metal Karaoke' each night after all of the bands have finished.
