Impaled Nazarene is a Finland|Finnish black metal band that incorporates elements of death metal in their sound and punk rock in their aesthetics. The band is currently signed to Osmose Productions of France.

When asked about the origin of their name, Mika Luttinen stated in an interview that he had read a pamphlet about Christ appearing to be a vampire. He got to thinking on how impaling a vampire is one of the only ways to kill them, and thus, thought of the name "Impaled Nazarene"{{Fact|date=June 2008

The band was infamous for seeming to hate the Norwegian black metal scene back in the early 1990s however the band now seems to disassociate with such hatred. It has been ascertained that the origin of such "hate" was the fact that singer Mika Luttinen had been subjected to telephonic pranks by members of fellow Finnish metallers Beherit, which he interpreted as "attacks" from members of the Norwegian black metal scene. They also stopped wearing corpse paint in the mid 1990s due to it being "too trendy".

In 2003, guitarist Teemu Raimoranta died falling - or jumping - off a bridge on the ice below. Although officially stated to be caused by intoxication, Mika Luttinen speculated it was suicide.

Location: Královédvorská 90, 541 01 Trutnov, Czech Republic In the summer of 2008 we will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of the OBSCENE EXTREME Festival and this is more than a reason for a proper party for sure. During the last decade you had the possibility yourselves to watch the OEF grow from a minifestival on a semi-trailer (indeed – in 1999 it was played on a tractor semi-trailer) to one of the most fundamental and respectable grindcore fests that is well-known also to the grind maniacs from such distant destinations as e.g. Singapore, Australia, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Thailand, Malaysia, USA and many others… I had a real shock back in 2005 when I visited Malaysia and was asked to sign the OEF compilations from 1999 for some local fans somewhere in the maze of the streets of Kuala Lumpur. The same surprise was awaiting me in Brazil, Argentina or Chile last year… It is incredible that also the dreams of these grind core fans are very much alike… It is namely the big journey to the OEF and enjoying it live… That is an absolutely fucking great discovery!!! I am mortally glad to meet you, the regular visitors, annually and salute those who arrive from the opposite side of the globe. I will also be very glad to welcome those for whom it is going to be the first OEF. The principle of the matter is not complicated – each year as the fan of extreme music I do my best to bring you the true picture of what is going on in the scene. It goes from the young bands to the „old school“ bands and your favour shows that it is a step in the right direction. I still want to provide room for the unknown but absolutely great bands whose sound will once again totally take your breath away… I think it shall be like this and it is right like this!!! After all – the OEF is and has always been about making and meeting friends, about music …. and about the great atmosphere you create every year. And this philosophy is also the spirit of this festival… As the classic says:„The progress cannot be stopped!“ so I am planning to liven up the tenth anniversary of OEF with other non-musical activities.
