He is best known for his smooth, crooner|crooning vocals and romantic ballads. Luis Miguel has been one of the most popular singers in Latin America since the early 1980s, and is commonly referred to as ''El Sol de México'' ("The Sun of Mexico").
Luis Miguel has won four Latin Grammy Awards and five Grammy Awards, and received a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at the age of 26. The details of Luis Miguel's early life are somewhat unclear. Luis Miguel was originally thought to have been born in Mexico, as he grew up in the state of Veracruz.
