Metallica is an American heavy metal music|heavy metal band that formed in 1981 in {{city-state|Los Angeles|California. Founded when drummer Lars Ulrich posted an advertisement in a Los Angeles newspaper, Metallica's original line-up consisted of Ulrich, rhythm guitarist and vocalist James Hetfield, lead guitarist Dave Mustaine, and bassist Ron McGovney. McGovney and Mustaine were later ejected from the band, in favor of Cliff Burton and Kirk Hammett, respectively. The ejection of Mustaine has subsequently resulted in a feud between him and Metallica. Mustaine later went on to form the band Megadeth. In 1986, Metallica's tour bus skidded out of control, and Burton was crushed under the bus and was killed. Jason Newsted replaced him, although he left the band in 2001 and was replaced by Robert Trujillo in 2003.
Metallica's early releases included fast tempos, instrumentals, and aggressive musicianship that placed them as one of the "Big Four" of the thrash metal genre alongside with Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax (band)|Anthrax. The band earned a growing fan base in the underground music community, and some critics say the 1986 release ''Master of Puppets'' is one of the most influential and "heavy" thrash metal albums. Rage Against The Machine y Metallica son las dos primeras bandas confirmadas para el Electric Weekend, un nuevo festival que tendrá lugar el viernes 30 y el sábado 31 de mayo en el Auditorio John Lennon de Getafe. Ambas bandas actuarán en el certamen en fecha única en España.
Rage Against The Machine serán los cabezas de cartel del viernes 30 y volverán a España con su formación original tras su reunificación en primavera de 2007. La banda californiana, una de las más influyentes del rock alternativo de los 90, se disolvió en octubre de 2000 tras una década de frenética actividad. A comienzos de 2007 los cuatro miembros originales de la banda rearman el grupo y reaparecen en el Coachella de California, como cabezas de cartel de la última jornada del festival.
Por su parte, Metallica encabezará el cartel del sábado 31 y vuelve a España tras su apoteósica actuación en junio de 2007 en el Bilbao BBK Live, donde consiguió congregar a casi 40.000 personas en una jornada inolvidable para todos los asistentes. La banda californiana regresa para presentar su nuevo disco, que saldrá a la venta a lo largo del presente año.
El cartel del Electric Weekend se completará con otras siete u ocho bandas por día. Las entradas salen a la venta el martes, 22 de enero, a través de la red Tick Tack Ticket, con una oferta inicial de bono de dos días a 110 €, más gastos de distribución. Se trata de una oferta limitada hasta el 16 de febrero.

Rock am Ring ist ein Musikfestival auf dem Nürburgring in der Nähe des Ortes Adenau in der Eifel. Es wurde erstmalig im Jahr 1985 veranstaltet. Die Veranstaltung war ursprünglich als ein einmaliges Event geplant. The Rock am Ring (Rock at the Ring) and Rock im Park festivals are two simultaneous rock music festivals held annually in Germany. While Rock am Ring takes place at the Nürburgring racetrack in the west of Germany, Rock im Park takes place in and around the Frankenstadion in Nürnberg, in the south east of Germany.
Both festivals are usually regarded one event with an identical Lineup for both festivals. All artists perform one day at Nürburgring and another day at Nürnberg during the three day event. The split locations serve to minimize the distance and therefore maximize the audience.

Rock im Park ist ein jährlich am ersten Juniwochenende im Volkspark Dutzendteich in Nürnberg stattfindendes Musikfestival. Es ist eine Parallelveranstaltung zu Rock am Ring.
Ich kann nur empfehlen dieses Festival zu besuchen !!! Es ist einfach der Wahnsinn, überzeugt euch selbst davon, das Geld für die Eintrittskarten kann man nicht besser investieren ! xD
