They formed during the summer of 2003, and are characterised by their powerful high-pitched vocals and melodic guitars. Origin of name
Anthony Green, the former vocalist, had initially suggested the name ''Saosin'' for the band.{{Fact|date=June 2008 The name is derived from the Chinese phrase ''xiao xin'', meaning ''careful'', which could also be literally translated in English to ''small heart''.
