Sinitta (born Sinitta Renet Malone October 19, 1968 in Seattle, Washington) is an USA|American actress and singer. She is the daughter of singer Miquel Brown and the niece of Amii Stewart.
History
Early career
Born in 1968, Sinitta began in show business by appearing in the movie ''Shock Treatment'' in 1981, followed by singing in the musical ''Cats (musical)|Cats'' in 1983. From 1985 to 1986, she appeared in the West End musical ''Mutiny!'' in London. Sinitta was linked romantically to her leading man, David Essex, who wrote the score, in British tabloids.
Sinitta appeared a ghost singer in 1983 for the dance group Hot Gossip on the songs Don't Beat Around The Bush and
Break Me Into Little Pieces.
Solo work
Sinitta released her first solo recording, "Never Too Late", in 1983, which was mixed by producer Jellybean (Madonna, E.G.Daily). Further singles "So Macho", "Cruising" and "Feels Like The First Time" and "Toy Boy" were club hits. "So Macho", produced by J.G. Hargreaves and Mick Parker, spent 18 weeks on the British singles chart, reaching #2 in June of 1986. In 1984 she took part in A Song for Europe, the UK heat of the Eurovision Song Contest.
She was in the video of Rock the Boat sung by Forrest in 1983 (originally sung by The Hues Corporation in 1974).
