The Robot Ate Me was an experimental music | experimental indie rock band formed by Ryland Bouchard in 2002. Their critically acclaimed albums alternate between accessible pop and obscure musical art projects that either tend to annoy or astonish. After releasing "Good World" in 2006 Babysue described the band as "one of the most unpredictable and obtuse underground bands around." In 2005, Bouchard moved to Anacortes, Washington then, in 2006, moved to Portland, Oregon where he currently lives. Bouchard has toured solo since 2005 and is known for having fairly unpredictable live performances. In 2003, Bouchard toured with David Greenberg, Are-Jay Hoffman and William Haworth. Also, the band Oh No! Oh My! got their name from The Robot Ate Me's song of the same name from the album On Vacation.
In 2007 Ryland Bouchard announced that he would no longer release records as The Robot Ate Me.
