William Whitfield Crane IV, (born January 19 1968, Palo Alto, California|Palo Alto, California) was a founding member and the lead singer of the hard rock/heavy metal|metal band (music)|band, Ugly Kid Joe, which formed in 1989 and disbanded in 1997. Crane is often noted for his powerful and diverse vocal range, and has a natural gift for stepping into any type of rock based project. Most of his performances are delivered with a strong presence and liveliness. Crane refers to himself in the Ugly Kid Joe song; C.U.S.T as "Frank Sinatra in a Rock n Roll band". Following Ugly Kid Joe's demise, Crane went on a year-long tour with Life of Agony before forming Medication (band)|Medication with ex-Machine Head (band)|Machine Head guitarist, Logan Mader. However, due to a series of issues with the band's record label, Medication disbanded in 2002. Crane now sings for Another Animal, a side project formed by Shannon Larkin, Robbie Merill, and Tony Rombola of Godsmack, as well as former Godsmack/Dropbox guitarist Lee Richards. In 2000, Whitfield contributed vocals to the track ''Reaching Out'' from the Lynn Strait tribute album Strait Up. The track though mainly features vocals from Mark McGrath of Sugar Ray. As of 2006, Whitfield lives in Palo Alto, where he was born and raised. External links * [http://www.myspace.com/uglykidjoe... read all Whitfield Crane top albumsWhitfield Crane top songs and lyrics
