Wuthering Heights
''Wuthering Heights'' is Emily Brontë's only novel. It was first published in 1847 under the pseudonym Ellis Bell, and a posthumous second edition was edited by her sister Charlotte Brontë|Charlotte. The name of the novel comes from the Yorkshire manor on the moorland|moors on which the story centres (as an adjective, ''wuthering'' is a Yorkshire word referring to turbulent weather). The narrative tells the tale of the all-encompassing and passionate, yet thwarted, love between Heathcliff (Wuthering Heights)|Heathcliff and Catherine Earnshaw, and how this unresolved passion eventually destroys both themselves and many around them.

HISTORY:
The world renowned ProgPower Festival is a concept that began 8 years ago in Holland, when the first ProgPower Europe festival took place. Since then the festival has evolved into a worldwide thing, with festivals in both Holland, USA and the UK. A lot of wellknown bands from around the globe have participated in the various ProgPower festivals, with bands as diverse as Nightwish, Symphony X, Blind Guardian, Pain Of Salvation, Opeth, Kamelot, Anathema, Evergrey and many more.

2007 saw the first Scandinavian edition taking place in Copenhagen, Denmark on November 9th and 10th.

Our goal is to make ProgPower Scandinavia an annual festival, and with the success of the first years show, we're looking very much forward to presenting to you even more of the very best names in contemporary Power and Progressive Metal in 2008 and beyond.

October 31st and November 1st 2008 we will be opening the doors for the second edition of ProgPower Scandinavia.

THE VENUE:
We've chosen The Rock as the venue for our first edition. It's a venue with a capacity of 700 people, located right in the center of Copenhagen, only 5 kilometres from the airport, with easy access to a great variety of bars, restaurants, 24-hour stores, shopping and hotels.

The Rock has existed in only a few years, but already established itself as a venue where bands such as Paradise Lost, Pain Of Salvation, Cannibal Corpse, Dragonforce, Evergrey, Doro, Devil Driver, Clawfinger, Bolt Thrower and Magnum have all performed to great response from the local audience.

The former court-house provides the perfect grim and gloomy, yet at the same time cosy and welcoming atmosphere. The venue has a large stage, with balconies in front of and next to it. After the show the venue turns into a Rock/Metal nightclub, where the audience can dance, headbang and have a drink from one of the four bars till early morning.
